"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." - Mae West
To me, this quote is one of urgency. This is the only life you have and if you don't make it the best life you can, then you're throwing your life away. There are so many people who reach the end of their life with all of these regrets and wished they had done this or that.
So why don't people just live more fully and experience life the way they want to while they still can? I think one reason is because of fear. Fear of failure or embarrassment or any number of things. We are our own biggest obstacle. It may help to talk to people who's lives are coming to an end. You'll find that for many of them, the fear of death takes away almost all other fears they once had.
Many people don't live fully because they're afraid of what others may think of them. If you knew you only had a few months to live, would you really care what other people thought of you? Would you care about trying something and messing up? Would you let the opinions of other people prevent you from actually spending the one life you have the way you want to?
Whether you're in your teens or your 90's, as long as there's some breath in you, start really living life. This isn't to say you should be careless. Be smart with the choices you make and the actions you take but remember that your time is limited. If there are things you want to do and experience, do them while you still can. Do those things not because other people want you to or to impress people but because you yourself want to do them.
Don't wait until a doctor tells you how long you have to live before you really start living. Remember, tomorrow was never promised to you.

Change What You Can, Don't Worry About the Rest
Many people have the habit of worrying excessively. They have all of these images of what could happen or wonder what they are going to do is this or that happens. Is it any wonder why so many people are prescribed anti-depression pills? Obviously, there is a percentage of people who actually need them but many people who are constantly worrying about things really just need to take a step back and take things into perspective.
The fact is that most of what we worry about on a daily basis don't even come true. There are certainly some benefits to worrying such as getting you to become more prepared for something but for the most part, it's something you can do without. So how do you stop worrying so much all the time? Here's an easy process.
If what you are worrying about is something you have the power to change, then change what you need to change so you don't have to worry about it. If you don't have the power to change it, then there's really no point in worrying because you can't do anything about it anyway. It's better to use your energy on something productive. Worrying is fine but make sure you choose things that you can actually influence the outcome, otherwise, you're just wasting your time.
If you've been in the habit of worrying and you're finding it a bit hard to overcome, try this. Make a list of the things that worry you. Write it on a piece of paper or on your computer. Once you do that, wait a few months and revisit the list and see which one of those things you were worrying about actually came true. Chances are, you'll find that most of the energy you spent worrying was for nothing.
One of the things that many people worry about is change, even though it's inevitable. Reading quotes on change can help and here's a good site: http://www.motivationalwellbeing.com/quotes-about-change.html.

Learn from Quotes About Life
There is actually a great deal of lessons that you can pick up from reading quotes about life. Many of these quotes are like words of wisdom that took decades of life experience to form. A lot of these types of quotes probably won't mean very much to you at the moment. Whether one has meaning or not depends on a few things such as what stage you're in in life as well as your beliefs and values. If you're still young and energetic, you may not take any of the health and old age type of advice very seriously as an example.
A read several life quotes that talked about how we should cherish the time that we have since life can be so short. Many people have dreams and goals or just things that they want to do but keep waiting and putting it off because they think that they have plenty of time and will eventually get around to it. Although this may be the case, just keep in mind that life can be very unpredictable. The people who pass away in car accidents didn't exactly plan for that to happen as they walked out of the house that morning. If you have things you want to do in this life, do it. Don't wait. You really don't know how long you have and no one promised you that you'll still be here a year from now.
Another type of quote about life are the ones that talk about friendship and family. Money is important in life but it doesn't beat the connection and the bond that you create with the people in your life. If you were stuck on an island, would you want to be there with your friends and family or would you want to be there with a pile of money? Take the time to create moments with those you care about. In the end, the only things that we will remember are those special moments. http://www.motivationalwellbeing.com/life-quotes.html
